Employers

How will we benefit?

Y Prentis is CITB’s flagship shared apprenticeship programme across South East Wales. Employers benefit from our ‘hassle-free hiring’ service giving them access to a pool of apprentices. Our apprentices are part qualified and often bring with them real skills and varied experience.

Apprentices are employed by Y Prentis, with you providing ‘host’ placements for an agreed period of time. Any management, mentoring or other HR support is given by us, saving you time and money.

Companies interested in getting involved can find out more about the benefits by taking a look at our short film. This will also tell you about the range of companies who are members of Y Prentis and already getting our support.

Targeted recruitment and training outcomes are standard requirements of many public sector contacts in Wales. Y Prentis can help you to deliver these as well as providing your clients with the necessary evidence they need to demonstrate the direct benefits to the local community.

What's involved?

Once a member of Y Prentis, you let us know about opportunities you have to offer and we recruit young people on your behalf. You are welcome to get involved in recruitment if you wish although we work hard to ensure that you get the right candidate, taking your requirements seriously.

Our apprentices come to you with a clear understanding of what is expected of them and ready to work.

During their placements, we and colleagues at CITB, make regular visits to monitor the apprentice’s progress and ensure that they and you are happy. The Y Prentis team is always on hand to deal with questions or provide support as required.

Case study -
