What is Y Prentis?

Y Prentis is a £2 million venture that will create 105 apprenticeships across south east Wales in its first 3 years. It’s a shared apprenticeship scheme launched by Melin Homes and Monmouthshire Council’s community interest company CMC² and backed by CITB. The ultimate aim is to provide a service which supports young people into sustainable employment within the construction industry. This will help young people further their careers and their chances of gaining employment.

Y Prentis will introduce new talent into the sector and boost employment. It also means that, in this tough economic climate contractors are not tied to supporting full-time apprenticeships.
