Aaron Boardman

Aaron started with Y Prentis in October of 2023, completing a bricklaying apprenticeship with our host Falcon 3. Aaron was nominated for the Welsh Regional Guild of Bricklayers competition at Newport Campus, Coleg Gwent. He went on and won 3rd place in the senior category.

James White

James White joined Y Prentis in September of 2021 looking to complete a groundworker apprenticeship. We placed him with our host Sterling Construction, where he stayed for 2 years and completed his apprenticeship. Once he was qualified, Sterling Construction decided to employ James as a full time groundworker.

James was nominated for the Apprentice of the Year award by Gower College, Swansea. He was then later on shortlisted and then unsurprisingly won.

Brychan Lock

Brychan started his Carpentry apprenticeship in January 2021 with our host Easy Living, completing a variety of tasks to expand his site skills and knowledge. Brychan was nominated for the “Construction Apprentice of the year” by Coleg Gwent, which he then proudly won due to an overwhelming amount of votes and comments.

Brychan then qualified with us in August 2023 and started full-time work with a different company.

Chris Williams

Chris started his Groundworker apprenticeship in January 2022 with our host Darlow Lloyd, completing a mixture of tasks to help with towards his future career. Chris was nominated for the “Construction/Civil Engineering apprentice of the year” by Gower College, which he then unsurprisingly won with amazing comments from everyone who knew him.

Chris then qualified with us in August 2023 and started full-time work with the host we placed him with.

Cara Taylor

Cara Taylor joined Y Prentis in August of 2021 looking to complete a Painting & Decorating apprenticeship. We placed her with our host T.J. Services where she stayed until she qualified in April 2023. When Cara qualified, she decided on starting up her own construction company after taking a little break.

She has been awarded a Gold medal at Skills Competition Wales 2022 for her entry into the Painting and Decorating category. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the candidates executed the work at their individual campuses and Cara carried out her work at Cardiff and Vale College in February 2022.
